About The Band

The Cuban League was formed on the 28th of December, 2004 after reuniting on the 27th to record their first demo. This sextet is comprised of musicians that are of three different generations.

After noticing the lack of traditional Cuban music in the United States and the world, Inocente Alvarez, the group's percussionist, specifically chose each musician to become members of The Cuban League. All the musicians are excellent, famous Cuban musicians that have made their way into the history of Cuban music and culture.

As a direct result of the Cuban embargo, authentic Cuban music has faced many obstacles in exposing music internationally...yet the demand remains high! Because of this, The Cuban League seeks to produce genuine Cuban music and expose it to all nations with great facility, while ensuring the utmost respect to Cuban culture.
